CLAYTON, Mo. (AP) — The death of an 89-year-old St. Louis County man is being blamed on the heat, bringing the number of heat-related deaths in Missouri to 24 since June.

The victim was found yesterday. The St. Louis County Health Department says the temperature in his home was 91 degrees and the air conditioner was not working properly. The man, who lived alone, has not been identified.
