Have you Hugged Your A.P. Today?

Did you remember that today is Administrative Professionals Day?

Normally, this is where I would poke fun at the fact that they don't call it Secretary's Day any more for the sake of political correctness. You know, they call farmers, "production agriculture specialists," and garbage men are, "sanitary engineers."

But, I'm not going there when it comes to Administrative Professionals, because the change in terminology fits. Long gone are the days when secretaries made coffee, answered the phone and took dictation. These days, the folks in the front office are the ones who keep day-to-day operations on the sunny side of chaos. Over the years, I've dealt with enough schools and government entities to know that if you want to talk to the person who really knows what's going on, you talk to the administrative professional.

So, be sure and properly honor your A.P. today. And, Teresa and Jennifer -- thanks!
