The city of Hannibal will be joining the rest of Missouri in reopening for business next Monday.

Mayor James Hark Wednesday issued a statement in the wake of Governor Parson’s plan to gradually get Missouri back to work.

Hark expressed support for the governor’s phase one plan and guidelines for the reopening of businesses.

The mayor also stated the city would not restrict or mandate any regulations beyond what has been provided by the Governor.

While expressing the desire for Hannibal businesses to come back strong, Hark points out the most effective way to prevent the spread of any virus continues to be limiting contact and unnecessary travel and avoiding large groups.

Along with state guidelines, Hannibal had been under its own stay at home order since March 23rd.
