Hannibal-LaGrange University’s latest crop of nursing students are among the best in Missouri in passing their state certification exams.

In a press release, HLGU reports that its 2017 nursing graduates had a 97 percent pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses and a 96 percent pass rate for students in the practical nursing program.

The statewide average for first time exam takers is 93 percent, and the national average is 88 percent.

Officials at HLGU’s Craigmiles School of Nursing see those numbers as exciting, but also point out that its students regularly earn a high pass rate on their exams.
