The Hannibal Free Public Library was closed Monday after bedbugs were discovered in the building.

This is the second time in the last year that bedbugs were found in the library.

According to Library Director Hallie Yundt Silver, a library patron reported the problem late Saturday afternoon in the third flood computer area.

Last September, bedbugs were found on the library’s second and third floors.

As of Monday morning, a complete inspection of the building was being done to determine the scope of the problem.

It was not known how long the library would be closed.
