A new musical that's been getting rave reviews in Chicago comes to Hannibal Saturday, June 28.

'Starting With My Voice' will be at the Hannibal Arts Council at 7:30 p.m. According to a press release from HAC, the musical "is the musical journal of five interconnected souls, that while living their human, everyday, complicated lives are learning simple, spiritual lessons. It was one of eight works selected into the prestigious Chicago Musical Theatre Festival."

Featured in Saturday's performance is Audra Sergel, who wrote the music and was one of those who came up with the concept for the show.

Audra's local connection is her friendship with the late Jason Dugger. In fact, 'Starting With My Voice,' will be performed using the grand piano on loan to the Hannibal Arts Council which belongs to Jason's family.

Proceeds from the concert go to the Historic Riverside Cemetery, where Dugger is buried.

Tickets are $15, $10 for HAC members.
