If you're a regular listener, you know that I pastor a church in my "spare" time. So I would be remiss if I didn't follow up on yesterday afternoon's blog. Today is Good Friday, but for the Son of Man, the day was anything but good. I've never seen, "The Passion of the Christ," but I'm told it is uncomfortably graphic in showing the suffering that Jesus withstood on that Friday before going to the cross.

It's true that Jesus was divine, but he was also human, so he could walk among us. Can you imagine the conflict those two sides of him went through in the days leading up to Friday. His divine side knew the plan, knew the ultimate result, knew the Good News that was coming. But his human side knew the extreme pain he would have to go through. For just a fleeting moment, in the garden, he asked God if there was some other way this could be done. But, in the end, the only way to save us from ourselves was for our Savior to suffer and die the most humiliating death a man could be subjected to in that time.

But then, the rest of story would come on the third day ...
