Charges Expected Following Adams County Jail Scuffle

A corrections officer at the Adams County Jail was taken to the hospital after being attacked by three men trying to escape over the weekend.
According to Sheriff Brent Fischer, three inmates lunged at the officer with homemade weapons about 4:45 p.m. Sunday. The officer was able to fight back while another officer stepped in to help.

The three men did not escape.

The first officer was struck at least twice and was treated and released from the hospital.
Fischer says the formal announcement of charges will be made in court Thursday.
