Cause of Sprout’s Fire Determined

(Quincy) – Fire investigators have determined a definitive cause for the blaze that destroyed Sprout’s Inn in Quincy early Thursday morning.
In a news release from the Quincy Fire Department, it was announced that investigators with QFD and the owner’s insurance company determined that, quote, “repetitive use of an electrical outlet over an extended period of time caused a loose terminal connection on the outlet, resulting in overheating.”
The owner of Sprout’s do plan to rebuild on the current site on North 12th Street.
