Can You Really Hike with Bison in Missouri? – Yes, and Here’s How
I have found one more thing you might want to add to your bucket list. It's a hike with bison in a Missouri state park that you really can do and I'll explain how.
Thanks to Only In Your State for their recent article about Prairie State Park in southwestern Missouri in Mindenmines. In case you didn't know, there are dozens of bison that roam that part of Missouri.
So, about that hiking with bison...how can I do it?
Missouri State Parks shows that there is a guided bison hike scheduled for several days over the next few months. The next hikes are August 6, September 10 and two hikes on November 10. The final bison hike of 2022 will be the afternoon of December 3 weather permitting.
What else can I do at Prairie State Park?
Prairie State Park also has what they refer to as an interpretive center where you can learn more about the prairie preserved there and, of course, bison.
