A bridge on Warren Barrett Drive in Hannibal has been closed to semi truck traffic.

Officials with the Hannibal Street Department report the weight limit on the bridge on Warren Barrett just east of Highway 61 has been lowered to 15 tons, meaning that semis can no longer use the bridge.

According to the Street Department’s Rich Dauma, the bridge near Buckhorn Plastics has been patched numerous times and expansion joints have been fixed, but the bridge is now beyond repair.

So until the bridge can be replaced, semi trucks that usually travel the west end of Warren Barrett Drive will have to use another route.
