Concert pianist Mark Laverty will present a performance at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1 at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 South Main Street. Laverty will play selections by Bach and Chopin. The performance is $5 for the general public and free for Hannibal Arts Council and Hannibal Concert Association members. The performance is sponsored by Frank and Ann Miller, Ann Nagy, Wade Stables, PC and touring grant from the Missouri Arts Council.

Laverty is an award-winning artist who has delighted audiences in the both the United States and Europe. He was born in St. Louis, and began playing the piano at the age of five. In 1989 earned the Bachelor of Music Education Degree (Magna Cum Laude) at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. In 1993, Laverty completed his Master’s Degree in Piano and Chamber Music at Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. In 2002, he completed the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Piano Performance at the University of Missouri - Kansas City. In demand as an adjudicator, accompanist and master class teacher, he resides in Chesterfield MO and is the head of the Chesterfield Piano Studio.
