Being a member of the Alzheimer’s Association Board of Directors gave me an opportunity to be one of the first people to know of some exciting news regarding the organization’s upcoming golf outing.  The Annual Alzheimer’s Association Pro-Am Golf Tournament will have a new venue this year as the event will be held at the Quincy Country Club Golf Course. The 11th Annual Pro-Am Tournament will be held Friday, July 20th with team opening still available. The event kicks off with a cocktail reception, dinner and auction at Mark Twain Casino on Thursday, July 19th and the public is welcomed to attend. The $20 meal price includes two drinks at the cocktail reception and a dinner. The auction will feature two week long badges to the 94th PGA Championship to be held August 9 -12th in South Carolina. Also, Sullivan Auctioneers has donated a 2011 Yamaha 49CC unit scooter that will be raffled off during the dinner. Scooter raffle tickets at $10 per ticket can be purchased at Mark Twain Casino, The Business Centre, Everything and the Kitchen Sink, and the Alzheimer’s Association Office at 639 York Street in Quincy.  The major corporate sponsors are KHQA, Mark Twain Casino, Mississippi Belle – Miller Lite, The Business Centre, and Quincy Medical Group. For more information, call the Alzheimer’s Association at 228-1111. A brochure can also be downloaded from the agency’s website at www.alz.org/illinoiscentral.
