With the announcement that Wednesday's Powerball jackpot has risen to $630 million dollars comes the latest asking of the question that, if we're honest, we've all asked ourselves, "What would I do if I won all that money?"

Yes, I understand your chances of winning the Powerball is 1 in 175,000,000 (if you buy a ticket. If you don't but a ticket, your chance is zero).

I ran across an article by the folks at State Farm with advice about what to do if you win the big one.

Once you find yourself with the winning ticket:

Make several copies of both sides of the ticket and stash the original in a safety deposit box.

Protect your privacy. In both Illinois and Missouri, you have the option of staying anonymous if you are a big winner.

Early in the process, put together a team that includes an attorney, an accountant, a banker and a financial advisor.

Make a general plan, both short and long term.

Figure out whether you want your winnings in a lump sum or in an annuity.

Once the money is in hand:

Bank it, keeping in mind the government only insures individual bank accounts up to $250,000.

Set a budget. No, really, That's where your team comes in.

Create your own charitable foundation and make a giving plan.

Two more things:

Don't quit your day job. Or at least make sure you have some reason to get up in the morning, part time work, passionate hobby, new career, go back to school.

Keep a healthy mind and body. Eat right, exercise, keep in touch with friends, especially those who keep you grounded.

Good luck.
