(QUINCY)—Adams County Sheriff’s deputies say they’re investigating an asphalt scam. Deputies say a group of individuals recently performed a blacktop job south of Quincy and defrauded the victim of nine thousand dollars. Deputies also say a house and garage in Ursa were partially painted for 12-hundred dollars. The scammers also are known to use intimidation to persuade the victim to pay. Deputies say that if someone suspicious shows up at your house that you do not know… do not allow them into your home and call 9-1-1.  Ask for proper ID and get a job description including dollar amount in writing before work starts. If you have information on this scam… contact the Adams County Sheriff’s department at 277-2200.
