Two Hamilton residents are in the Hancock County Jail on meth related charges.

According to Hancock County Sheriff Scott Bentzinger, deputies conducted a traffic stop after a vehicle ran a stop sign on Hancock County Road 1800 at 12:52 a.m. Sunday.

During the traffic stop, the department’s K-9 unit was deployed and alerted to the odor of narcotics.

A search resulted in the recovery of about 39 grams of methamphetamine.
The driver of the vehicle, 41 year old Chad Marmion, and his passenger, 45 year old Priscilla Avery-Wear, were both charged with possession of meth. Avery-Wear was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, along with an additional charge of possession of contraband in a penal institution after being found with illegal prescription narcotics while she was being booked into the Hancock County Jail.
