Tepen, Howard Plead Not Guilty to Drug Induced Homicide Charges
Two Calhoun County residents pleaded not guilty Tuesday to charges in connection with the drug induced homicide of a Milton, Illinois man in March.
30 year old Derek Tepen and 26 year old Kayla Howard pleaded not guilty to drug induced homicide and delivery of a controlled substance in Pike County Circuit Court in Pittsfield.
The two are charged in connection with the death of 35 year old Gavin Bland, who died March 4th after ingesting heroin that contained fentanyl.
The case has been put on the July jury docket.
Tepen and Howard are in the Pike County Jail on $200,000 bond.
