A 24-year-old Quincy man faces charges of Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property over 100-thousand dollars as the result of an investigation into the Newcomob Hotel fire on September 6.

The Quincy Police Department held a news conference at Washington Park this afternoon, and announced an arrest in the case of Newcomb Hotel fire. 24-year-old Matthew C. Clark has been arrested in the case.

Demolition continues today on the Hotel Newcomb building at Fourth and Maine in Quincy. Work crews made some progress on Sunday... but the north and east walls were still standing at the end of the day. Investigators are looking for a cause for the fire...
