The week is starting out to be a wet and perhaps stormy one across northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

National Weather Service forecasters say rain is 100% likely Monday through Tuesday, with chances dropping only slightly Tuesday night into Wednesday.

The best chance for severe weather is Monday and Monday night, although forecasters say the best chance of severe storms is in southeast Missouri and southern Illinois.

After a slight chance of showers Wednesday night and Thursday, this system should clear out, leaving us with sunny and cool conditions for the weekend.

High temperatures are not expected to get out of the 60s this week. Lows will drop from the mid 50s Monday to the mid 40s for the weekend.

Specifically, NWS says Saturday and Sunday should be sunny with highs in the low to mid 60s. That's should serve as good news for organizers of the Autumn Historic Folk Life Festival in Hannibal, the Country Colorfest in Louisiana and the Fall Color Drive in Pike County, Illinois.
