(Hannibal)—After heavy rains moved through earlier this week, the Mississippi River is at or near flood stage at several points in our area.

The river is now over the 16 foot flood stage in Hannibal, standing at 16.7 feet as of Saturday morning.  The Mississippi is expected to crest just under 18 feet at Hannibal on Sunday.

Louisiana and Clarksville are also experiencing minor flooding with crests expected around 1.5 feet over flood stage.
