A chance to show off your pumpkin decorating skills comes to Nipper Park in Hannibal Sunday, October 26.

Hannibal Parks and Recreation hosts its third annual "Pumpkins in the Park" event.

Anyone wanting to decorate a pumpkin for the event is asked to bring it to Nipper Park from 2 to 3 p.m. Then, from 3 to 5 p.m., the pumpkins will be on display along the Nipper Park walking path. Judging will be done by the event's spectators.

Those who come to peruse and to judge will pick their favorites in three categories, scariest, most original and funniest.

Prizes will be handed out to the top three finishers in each category in the adult and children's divisions.

Prizes have been donated by SC Contact Centers and Hannibal Parks & Rec. All entries will get a pass to the Hannibal Aquatic Center.

The winning pumpkins will be on display at City Hall through Halloween.

Pumpkins can be decorated with paint, glitter, markers, etc., but no carving is allowed.
