The 5 Biggest Storylines for The Masters 2024

It is golf's biggest weekend, The Masters is back! What are the storylines that golf executives are hoping come true Sunday night when the tournament ends?

If you are still with me, here are my top 5 Masters storylines...

5. One of the "Good Guys" winning, whether it is getting a Green Jacket for the first time for Justin Thomas, Colin Morikawa, Rickie Folower, and Jason Day, or winning another green jacket for Dustin Johnson or Jordan Speith, one of the 6 guys I just listed winning this year's Masters would be good for golf. These players are very well-liked and already have star power, the worst thing for golf is a new guy/no-name guy winning.

4. Rahm or Scottie Scheffler winning. These are the two best players on the planet and they each play in separate leagues, Rahm with LIV has a chance to win two green jackets in a row, or Scottie with the PGA getting his 2nd green jacket, either story would be HUGE for golf.

3. Brooks Koepka winning his 1st Green Jacket and 6th Major overall. This would be a massive storyline for golf, Brooks is the only LIV guy who has proven he can still win the biggest events, he is the Alpa on the course when the lights are brightest, and getting number 6 while still in his prime means he could end up with double-digit majors.

2. Rory McIlroy winning his 1st Green Jacket, 5th total major, and finishing the career grand slam. It has been 10 YEARS since Rory last won a major, he has choked on golf's biggest stage time and time again, him finally winning a green jacket would be the biggest story, but...

1. Tiger is back. and Tiger just playing is already the biggest and best storyline for golf. Tiger making the cut, awesome, Tiger in competition on Sunday, brilliant, but Tiger winning his 6th Green Jacket tying Jack, and winning his 16th total major...That is what all golf executives (and the World) are hoping for.
