A hearing that had been scheduled for Thursday in connection with the Curtis Lovelace murder retrial was cancelled Wednesday.

According to Special Prosecutor Ed Parkinson, the hearing was cancelled to give both sides time to file more motions and respond to motions already on the table in the case.

Lovelace’s defense team asked last week that the retrial be postponed from October 24th till at least next January. They also asked for a change of venue.

Lovelace is accused of killing his first wife, Cory Lovelace, in 2006. His first trial ended in a mistrial following a hung jury last February.
