Culver-Stockton College announces a double dose of good financial news Wednesday.

Culver trustees approved plans for a new residence hall in October. The college announced Wednesday they received a $1-million dollar gift from Betty Dancey, a friend of the college and long time friend of Culver-Stockton President Emeritus Dr. Robert Brown.

The new residence hall will be named in honor of Dr. Brown and his wife, Carolyn. The hall should be completed by next August.

Culver officials also announced a half-million dollar gift to the college’s endowment fund from Robert and Donna Stone. That money will be used for scholarships starting next fall.
