Ashburn Burglary Suspect Arrested

A Bowling Green man is arrested in connection with a burglary in Pike County over the weekend.

Sheriff Stephen Korte reports the arrest of 31-year -ld Mark Helms for burglary, stealing a firearm and unlawful possession of a concealable firearm. Helms is a convicted felon.

Helms is alleged to have broken into a home in the Ashburn area Saturday, helped himself to food from the refrigerator. He reportedly took jewelry, money and a gun and fled the home.

Deputies found Helms walking through a field near Highway 79 and County Road 117. He surrendered after a brief foot chase.
