It's not common to see a mountain lion in Missouri especially a young one, but that appears to have happened near rural Edgewood based on a video shared by a Missouri man.

I will admit that I was on the fence about whether this really was a mountain lion that a man swears he captured video of in rural Edgewood, Missouri. Edgewood is a township just south of Bowling Green. I decided to back his mountain lion claim after I saw him mention on the YouTube share that he's seen adult mountain lions near his farm previously, so I'm going to assume that he knows what he's talking about. Based on the view number, not many people have seen the video he shared a few months ago. Let's change that now.

Here are some screen captures of the animal. See if you think this looks like a young mountain lion to you.

The Missouri Department of Conservation does not have this sighting on their list of confirmed mountain lion encounters page. They say they do many investigations, but do not confirm many as there are lots of false alarms. That doesn't rule out this Edgewood, Missouri sighting being legit. It could mean that the farmer never officially submitted it for review. There are many who remain convinced there are more mountain lions in Missouri than officially confirmed.
