While the Mississippi River levees continue to hold, businesses owners in West Quincy, Missouri are preparing for the worst.

Officials at both the Ayerco’s in West Quincy started removing gas pumps Thursday morning and closed their stores Thursday afternoon.

At West Quincy Pawn Shop, customers’ items have been moved to the upper floor and some larger items have been moved to the owner’s farm.

The West Quincy HOMEBANK closed down at noon Thursday.
And, sandbagging crews were working Thursday at the Knapheide facility.
