QUINCY -- A local cell phone provider is now part of U.S. Cellular.
According to a news release from U.S. Cellular, it has closed a deal to buy all of Simmetry's cellular and spectrum licenses that cover much of the area.
The deal enhances U.S. Cellular's network strength and expands roaming in the coverage area.
Simmetry customers should be getting a letter in the coming week explaining the company's plans to terminate service at the end of June.
As part of the deal, Simmetry has agreed to recommend its seven thousand customers to U.S. Cellular.
