A one-car crash in Pike County, Missouri injures five young people and results in the arrest of the driver. 

The Highway Patrol reports the crash happened early Saturday morning on Pike County Road 41 north of US 54.  Troopers arrived to find a 1989 Ford LTD had veered off the roadway and struck a tree.

Two occupants, 20 year-old Lorrin Christensen and 21 year-old Devan Schuckenbrock, both of Bowling Green, sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.   Two additional passengers, 20 year old Taylor Ardnt of Center and 22 year-old Elizabeth Dopp of Bowling Green went to Pike County Memorial Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The driver, 21 year-old Matthew Myer of Bowling Green suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Pike County Hospital. He was arrested for Felony Driving While Intoxicated and 2nd Degree Assault due to the multiple-injury accident.

Troopers say none of the occupants was wearing a seat belt.
