(Northeast Missouri)—A Missouri State Trooper parked the cruiser and took the train Wednesday as part of an effort to reduce the number of railroad crossing crashes.

Seven troopers patrolled various crossings in the Clarence, Shelbina, and Monroe City areas, supported by a Patrol aircraft and the trooper riding in the locomotive.

Officers report three individuals received summonses for railroad crossing violations.

The enforcement operation was held in cooperation with the Burlington-Northern Santa Fe Railroad and Operation Lifesaver.
