Three people are hurt in a two car crash at Highway 61 and Route F south of Palmyra at 11:50 a.m. Thursday.

The Highway Patrol reports a westbound car driven by 82 year old James Drebenstedt of Palmyra attempted to cross 61 and was struck by a southbound car driven by 68 year old Joan Friye of Philadelphia.

James Drebenstedt suffered serious injuries and was taken by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia. His passenger, 80 year old Patricia Drebenstedt of Palmyra, was also seriously injured and taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy. Friye was taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.
