There will be a total of three contested races in the Quincy municipal election in April.

The deadline for filing petitions for the April 4th election was 5 p.m. Monday.
Among the 14 candidates who filed, incumbent Republican Mayor Kyle Moore faces the challenge of Independent Alderman Jeff VanCamp.

Also filing were Republican Tom Ernst and Democrat Joel Kenneth Logue for 3rd Ward Alderman, while in Ward 2, incumbent Democrat Dave Bauer will run for reelection against Republican Shawn Irvine.

Independent candidates can still file petitions from December 12th through the 19th.

Party leaders can also slate candidates until January 25th.
