St. Louis Thanksgiving Parade Cancelled

The annual Thanksgiving Day parade in St. Louis that was postponed over police shooting protests has now been cancelled.

Parade organizers had rescheduled the event for Dec. 13 but now cite scheduling conflicts among high school marching bands and other parade participants.

The parade, which is sponsored by Ameren Missouri, has taken place for nearly 30 years.

The city of St. Louis has been the site of several protests since the announcement of a St. Louis County grand jury's decision to not indict Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson in Michael Brown's shooting death. The announcement came three days before Thanksgiving.
