The Missouri Highway Patrol reported three traffic crashes in northeast Missouri over the weekend, resulting in seven injuries, one serious.

A Louisiana woman suffers serious injuries in a crash involving two motorcycles on Highway 79 north of Pike County Route YY at 2:35 p.m. Saturday.

The Highway Patrol reports 67 year old Carolyn Hemphill of Louisiana was southbound.

She attempted to make a U-turn to remove a turtle from the road and was struck by a second southbound motorcycle, driven by 69 year old Aaron Hemphill, also of Louisiana.

Carolyn Hemphill was taken by Air Evac to Mercy Hospital St. Louis for treatment.

 

A couple from Jackson, Missouri escape with minor injuries in a one car crash on Highway 36 east of Lakenan in Shelby County at 4:55 p.m. Sunday.

The Highway Patrol reports 63 year old Clyde Spurgeon was eastbound when his car hydroplaned, ran off the road and overturned.

Clyde Spurgeon refused treatment. His passenger, 61 year old Deborah Spurgeon, was treated at the scene.

 

Four teenagers suffer minor injuries in a one car crash on Business 154 east of Highway 24 in Paris at 7:02 p.m. Sunday.

The Highway Patrol reports 18 year old Chase Grimes of Fulton was eastbound when his car ran off the road and struck a culvert.

Grimes and his three passengers, 17 year old Eston Drews of Fulton, 17 year old Bryanna Conboy of Paris and a 14 year old juvenile, also of Paris, were taken to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
