Sen. Jil Tracy Named Illinois Senate Minority Whip

A western Illinois state senator will hold a leadership position in the state legislature in the coming session.

Senate Republican Leader Bill Brady has announced the appointment of 47th District Senator Jil Tracy of Quincy as Senate Minority Whip.

Brady said Tracy’s leadership on issues such as the Illinois Veterans’ Home updates made her a natural choice for a caucus leadership spot.

Tracy was reelected to her second term in the Senate in November. She had previously served in the Illinois House from 2006 to 2014, and was a candidate for Lieutenant Governor, also in 2014.
