The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command is distributing electric fans to those in need in light of this week’s heat wave.

Anyone who would like a fan can apply at the Family Services Centers in Hannibal and Quincy. Preference will be given to people who are over 65, under five or disabled.

If you would like to donate a fan, you can also bring those to the Family Service Centers.

Also, the Kroc Center in Quincy is serving as a cooling center from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day heat advisories are in effect.

The Quincy Area Command serves Marion, Ralls, Lewis, Shelby and Monroe counties in Missouri and Adams, Brown and Pike counties in Illinois.
