These Illinois Snacks Have Contamination Could Be Fatal for Kids

If you've picked up snacks in Illinois recently, it's urgent that you check your pantry as there is a bulletin from the FDA alerting that many widely-available candies and snacks could be fatal for children and those with compromised immune systems.

According to the bulletin just issued today by the FDA, a massive amount of cookies, pretzels and other snacks are affected by this urgent recall due what is believed to be a Salmonella contamination risk. As Mayo Clinic notes, Salmonella can be fatal for young children, the elderly and those with immune systems that are not at full strength.

This recall comes from a candy company in Sioux City, Iowa whose white confectionary product could have this Salmonella contamination. If you have any of these products with the following best by dates, do NOT consume them. They were reportedly available at nearly all Illinois Walmart, Target and Dollar General stores.
