Routine Traffic Stop Results in Burglary Charges
(Carthage, Ill)--A traffic stop for an equipment violation results in burglary charges for two La Harpe men.
Carthage Police stopped a vehicle driven by 20 year-old Ike Byers at 1:42 a.m. Friday. Police discovered a passenger, 20 year-old Andrew Finch was wanted on a McDonough County warrant.
During the stop, police found items taken from a business the two men had unlawfully entered. Police also discovered alcohol and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Finch and Byers were taken to the Hancock County Jail on burglary charges. Other charges are pending. They remain in custody on $50,000 bond. The Hancock County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
