Quincy Police Warn of Possible Home Computer Scam

Quincy Police warns the public of possible scams involving their home computers.

QPD reports that a citizen received a call about possible problems with their home computer. The citizen asked several questions of the caller and the call ended. Authorities believe this could have been an attempt to gain control or access of that home computer.

Police warns you should be careful if you get a random call about your home computer. If you have concerns about your computer or any specific software, you’re asked to contact that company directly.

And, of course, never give out personal or financial information to anyone who calls you unexpectedly.
