Quincy Police Make Child Porn Arrest

A registered sex offender is in the Adams County Jail on possession of child pornography charges.
Quincy Police say the investigation started in January based on cybertips processed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in conjunction with the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. Information was forwarded to Quincy Police. Detectives contacted 49 year old Marcus Groves at 10:45 Thursday morning and searched his residence at 1221 Vermont. Groves was taken to the Adams County Jail. Public sex offender records indicate Groves has prior convictions for criminal sexual assault and aggravated criminal sexual abuse charges in Sangamon County. Quincy Police say Groves is also charged with failure to register as a sex offender.
