Quincy Man Dies After High-Speed Chase
A Quincy man is dead after crashing his car following a high speed chase Saturday night.
Quincy Police report officers attempted to make a traffic stop at 9th and Ohio at 11:35 p.m. Saturday on suspicion that the driver didn’t have a valid driver’s license.
The driver failed to stop and a chase ensued. Officers lost contact with the vehicle and discontinued the chase. Shortly thereafter, they received a report that the car crashed at 9th and Hampshire.
Police report the driver, identified as 24 year old Antjuan Gant, lost control of his car, hit a parked car and then struck the building at 901 Hampshire.
Gant was taken to Blessing Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
An investigation revealed Gant was driving with a suspended license.
