If you're looking for a consensus on how the winter of 2014-15 will shape up in the Quincy/Hannibal area ... good luck.

NOAA's three-month temperature prediction map for December - February shows average temperatures across our region; average to below-average precipitation amounts are being predicted by NOAA for the same three-month period.

The Farmers' Almanac earlier had predicted earlier that temperatures, precipitation and snowfall in our part of the world will all be below normal. They say the coldest period will be mid December through mid January. The snowiest times this season are predicted to be mid December, early February and most of March.

The website Weather Trends 360 says temperatures will be average to above average, with average precip and snowfall totals similar to last year. They say December snowfall could be more than normal, less than normal in January and February, and perhaps much more than average in March.

A very snowy March is something the experts seem to agree on.
