(QUINCY)—A young Quincy man faces several charges after Quincy Police were called to 817 South 19th at 8:36 Monday evening. 

A female told a 911 operator her husband was out of control and that she had to flee her residence and that her children were still inside. Officers arrived and searched the residence. The children were moved to a safe location.

Police say 19-year-old Preston Steinhour was found in the basement. He displayed a knife and resisted officers. Police subdued Steinhour with a taser. Steinhour is charged with armed violence, aggravated assault, resisting a peace officer and disorderly conduct.

He was treated at Blessing Hospital and taken to the Adams County Jail.
