(QUINCY)—Quincy Police are investigating a telephone scam. A Quincyan received a call August 20 purportedly from the Dominican Republic indicating a granddaughter had been arrested in a drug case and needed 900 dollars to retain an attorney. The Quincyan sent the money to a Ronald Tiribio in the Dominican Republic. A second call then asked for 12-hundred dollars for an English speaking attorney. The victim then contacted other family members and discovered the scam.
