Police Involved Shooting in Quincy Leaves One Dead
One man is dead after a police involved shooting in Quincy.
Quincy Police were called to 11th and Jackson at 8:28 pm to investigate suspicious activity. Deputy Police Chief Doug Vandermaiden told the media the officer encountered a male subject and during the encounter, the male pulled out what appeared to be a pistol. The officer then fired. Police say the male is dead. He has not been identified at this time. The officer involved was not injured but was taken to Blessing Hospital to be checked out. Illinois State Police are investigating.
