A Northeast Missouri program that teaches people how to do their own home repairs is expanding.

The North East Community Action Corporation is seeking applicants for the Self-Help Housing Program in Monroe County.

NECAC started the program in Marion, Ralls and Pike counties with 159 thousand dollars from USDA Rural Development.

So far, improvements have been made at six owner-occupied homes. Income-qualifying families and individuals do the renovation work with NECAC’s guidance. Supplies are purchased by the program.
