Money to make homes more energy efficient is on its way to Northeast Missouri.

The North East Community Action Corporation is getting a 45 thousand dollar grant from NeighborWorks America.

The money is part of the Safe and Sound program, which was made possible by a national donation from the Wells Fargo.

NECAC will leverage additional dollars through the Home Depot Foundation and the Missouri Housing Development Commission.

NECAC weatherization crews will do the work. The goal is to complete at least 40 rural housing rehabilitation projects in 12 Northeast Missouri counties be September 30th.
