(PALMYRA)—A new law going into effect in Missouri changes how you obtain a conceal carry permit.

As of August 28, applications for the permits are made through the county sheriff’s office where you reside instead of through the Missouri Department of Revenue. Permits issued after August 28 will be valid for five years.

Renewals of current permits will be issued through your county sheriff’s department.
