It's not easy keeping a brick-and-mortar business afloat. Just ask Best Buy who just announced they will be shuttering up to 15 more stores and I can confirm that one location in Missouri has already shut its doors forever.

This newest round of store closings by Best Buy was reported by USA Today a few days ago. According to their story, this plan to close even more stores was revealed in an earnings call. In that call, no locations were revealed. However, I have learned from some other local Missouri media that at least one Show Me State Best Buy will not remain in business.

The Kansas City Star is reporting that the Best Buy location at 9130 N. Skyview Ave. in Kansas City is no more. They ceased doing business in March.

According to Best Buy's official store locator website, that leaves just 20 stores in Missouri now. Best Buy maintains stores in the following Missouri cities as of this writing:

  • Branson
  • Bridgeton
  • Cape Girardeau
  • Chesterfield
  • Columbia
  • Fenton
  • Independence
  • Jefferson City
  • Joplin
  • Kansas City
  • Lees Summit
  • Manchester
  • Saint Joseph
  • Saint Louis
  • Saint Peters
  • Springfield

The earning report said that up to 15 more stores would be closed between this date and the end of 2025. Time will tell if any other Missouri stores will be affected by Best Buy's continued downsizing.

As this is a developing story, it will be updated if new information about Missouri locations is released.
