Man Missing From Lewis County Found Safe

UPDATE: The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Ernest Wood has been found safe.

[Original Story] Authorities are looking for your help in locating a missing Lewis County man. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says an Endangered Silver Advisory is in effect for 71-year-old Ernest Wood. 

The Highway Patrol says Wood told a neighbor Sunday that he was going fishing in the Newark, Missouri area. Authorities say his phone was pinged in the Doniphan, Missouri area prior to being shut off at 3 p.m. Monday.

Wood is described as a white male 6’1” 190 pounds with white hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a red flannel shirt and blue bib overalls with white shoes. Authorities say Wood suffers from depression, COPD and the early stages of dementia.

Wood’s vehicle is a red 1995 Pontiac Sunfire with Missouri license plate HK5 R9Y. Contact the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department if you have information on Wood’s whereabouts.
